Tanium
Tanium is an IT operations platform used by the world's largest organizations. At Tanium Cloud, I build and maintain planet-scale services and infrastructure connecting hundreds of millions of endpoints globally.
- Customers can patch their fleet of millions of endpoints in hours now instead of days thanks to a petabyte-scale global CDN I created to deliver data faster and cheaper.
- Eliminated more than 100 petabits/month of costly egress by writing an high performance gRPC streaming service in Golang that caches and deduplicates terabytes of shared customer data.
- Proactively identified and saved over $1 million in annual cloud costs without compromising stability by right-sizing RDS databases and replacing expensive VPC endpoints with secure proxies.
- Unlocked a new market of newly-viable small business customers worth millions in ARR by converting thousands of costly EC2 VMs and private networks to horizontally-scalable Kubernetes workloads and shared service meshes.
- Empowered dozens of engineering teams to deploy new infrastructure rapidly by building Kubernetes operators equipped with Pulumi that provision cloud resources from simple native Kubernetes API specs (CRDs).
- Saved hundreds of developer hours and frequent outages by decoupling previously monolithic infrastructure as code projects so multiple teams could release on their own schedules.
IKEA
IKEA US Digital is the first and only digital footprint for IKEA in the United States. I founded and lead the backend services and operations team to streamline operations in stores across the world.
- Shortened wait times for customers picking up online orders at IKEA stores 30% by integrating previously separate ticketing and order details systems in a Java/Spring Boot microservice hosted in Google Cloud Kubernetes (GKE).
- Boosted order-picking efficiency as lead developer for a modern Java/Spring Boot-backed Typescript and React mobile app.
- Provided 1:1 technical mentoring for engineers, and served as tech lead on a team of 8. Responsible for design, prioritization, and code review.
